You Smashed Your Fit Goals... Now What?

You literally worked our butt off to improve your health and congrats!

Whether your goal was fitting into a tiny pair of jeans or running a marathon I know what you’re thinking- what should I do next??? It’s not the time to rest on your laurels- sure you can take a moment or two to celebrate- but let’s not lose momentum…

Below are some ideas and tips so you continue to find fitness and pilates success ……not fall back into old and poor ways or bad habits.

Set New & More Long-Term Goals

This is probably the most obvious and it is a great time to regroup and rethink your plans

You can go for an more performance based goal if your last once was aesthetic or vice versa. The trick is to void getting too comfortable or you may find yourself backtracking and not feeling motivated to continue working hard on your fitness levels.

Focus on more long-term goals that might take you a little longer to meet. For instance, it may be that you want to do the splits or nail a handstand press. It might also be time to switch things up! If you’ve been lifting weights try doing Pilates or yoga instead and if mind body has been your jam- try adding in some additional cardio

Focus on That Beautiful Face

They may say that beauty is only skin deep- but I have to look in the mirror every day….

Now that you’re feeling more confident and toned- is it time to freshen up your skin care? As I’ve hit my 40s I def have upped my skin cafre and will lather on a bunch of products and laser away acne and wrinkles so i can put both my best body and snatched face forward….. If you are looking for the latest in anti wrinkle technology check out trying the fotona 4d treatment to help you get that glow on for more dewy and youthful-looking skin. I’ve been doing a combo of a microneedling and nonablative laser and both have helped my skin look much smoother

Go Into Maintenance Mode

Once you’ve reached your fitness goals you don’t want to start taking ten steps back or making detrimental choices. Instead, focus on maintaining that healthy lifestyle in ways that make it seem effortless and have great payoffs. For example, you could start cooking for yourself more at home, set up a home gym you can use regularly, or kick bad habits you’ve wanted to quit for a while now such as staying up late or eating unrefined sugar.

Just imagine how much better you’ll feel when you’re taking in more nutritious and fulfilling food and getting enough rest! Keep incorporating habits that improve your mood, energy levels, and appearance- that’s what makes setting goals worth the temporary setbacks of committing to new ideals

Try New Fitness Activities

Another great idea f you’ve reached your fitness goals ….is to try new fitness activities besides going to the gym. There are so many new options to move…. You can even tackle harder levels of the activities you’re already doing or try a harder class. Maybe take on new variations of the types of yoga you do - try restorative or hot yoga instead of your usual vinyasa.

Dancing and team sports can have social aspects as well. It’s not only a good way to stay in shape but you may also meet new people or discover new talents you have. With summer coming it’s also a great time to get outside and hike- even if you;’re in the city- lace up and explore a new area you’ve never walked through. Speaking of which- maybe try surfing or running in the sand at the beach

We hope these tips will help you continue moving along strong and onto your next goals!

While it’s okay to take a break and acknowledge your accomplishments, you also want to make sure you continue to develop and grow in to maximize your full potential.
